Schooldays Fun for Grownups

Whenever I see that a nightclub, or a ‘progressive’ pub, is advertising a ‘schooldays’ party, my heart skips a beat, and I get (quite a bit) excited. But even at the nightclubs that do it, it tends to happen only once or twice a year (I believe).

And I thought ‘how about a club devoted to schooldays parties – having them a couple of times a week, even – wouldn’t that be something?’

And so that’s what this club exists for – to put on ‘Schooldays Parties’. Wouldn’t that be fun? And I must admit it gives me a thrill to think of running a firm doing that. Better than being a dentist, me-thinks. (Probably not so well paid though. Oh well.)

In fact, it is now slightly different – we have 1 ‘Schooldays Party’ a week, and more general ‘fancy dress’ parties on 1 or maybe 2 evenings a week – that’s why we’ve called ourselves ‘Schooldays Parties Plus’.

We strongly advise members to purchase 2 or 3 (or maybe even more) fancy dress outfits that particularly appeal to them – most of these fancy dress outfits can be bought (via the internet) for £20 or £30 – whereas if you hire them from a fancy dress hire shop they usually cost £10 or £15 just to hire for the evening, making it an expensive evening out.

[Our ‘fancy dress parties’ are just that (fancy dress parties), they aren’t on a very specific theme (apart from the Schooldays Parties, of course). If they were on a specific theme (and the theme varied), it would necessitate a different outfit for each party, and you probably would have to go to a hire shop.

I’ll tell you what, we could have a theme, but the theme could be something that lasts for the whole year – not changed for every party. So that would involve minimal outlay in terms of ‘changes of costume’ etc.

Yes, that doesn’t sound too bad. So let’s make this year’s theme ‘sexy and sweet’. So you could either choose something very sexy, or very sweet – or some combination of the two. Does that sound OK?]

The way we do it, as we said, you can purchase perhaps 2 or 3 fancy dress costumes you particularly like, and always use one of them (well, for a year or so, anyway).

It is now our plan to acquire maybe about 100 fancy dress costumes (varying types, varying sizes. [Costing about £3,000 of our Capital.] And then offer them to be hired out at about £2 for the evening – we believe the £10 - £15 hire charge at a lot of fancy dress hire shops is a ridiculous amount. This way your evening out will be a very affordable one.

Membership is FREE and there is a £10 entrance fee to the parties.

SOME INFORMATION ABOUT THE PARTIES

There will be (very limited) free refreshments. [just basically crisps and nuts etc]. It is BYOB (Bring your own booze), and you are welcome to bring your own snacks too. Music will be provided (obviously).
